Yukie’s musical talent was recognized while she was still very young and her concert tours in Europe, USA and South-East Asian countries were highly praised.
She made her debut at the same time she entered Toho Gakuen School of Music.
While jumping all over Japan, holding over 60 concerts a year, she is also giving “School Concerts” and “Hospital Concerts” which she regards as being her lifework
She has released over 30 albums and has also written music for many TV drams, movies and commercials. Recently, she has appeared as a teacher in a NHK TV program titled “Shumi-Yuyu, Yukie Nishimura’s Easy Piano Lessons” and her easy-to-understand, enjoyable lessons which conveyed the joy of music to the public received much attention. Her light and airy sound with inner power and strength along with her beautiful, heartrending original melody has attracted a broad range of fans. Also, the way she talks during the concerts and on radio programs displays both her enthusiastic attitude for music and her mischievous side, earning a good reputation. She is also engaged in a wide range of activities, such as appearing on TV and radio programs and writing essays.
In 2006, she established her own office “Moderato” and in 2009, she changed her record company to Hats Unlimited, releasing the album “Vitamin”, textbook & CD “Daredemo Chopin (meaning everybody can be a Chopin)”, piano solo album “Piano” and concert tour DVD “Vitamin Tour 2010” one after another, all of which were well received.
In May 2011, she celebrated her 25th anniversary as a pianist/composer and will release the first self-covered best album “Smile Best 〜selfcover collection〜”. In September, concert tour travelling all over Japan and Asia is being planned to commemorate her 25th anniversary.
Representative compositions are the TV drama “101 Kai-me No Propose (101th marriage proposal), movie “Kogitsune Helen” and NHK “Archives”
